Refreshing some old knowledge, I wanted to show a bit how an ac motor works. This is the basic theory, there is a lot more to say about motors like multi-pole windings, three phase motors, starting winding in series with a capacitor to provide the initial torque, etc etc, but what you see here is the main principle of how induction motors work
